Key Components and Functions:
Evaporator Coil:

Contains refrigerant that absorbs heat from the indoor air. As warm air passes over the coil, the refrigerant inside evaporates, cooling the air.
Blower Fan:

Circulates air through the evaporator coil and distributes cooled air throughout the space.
Expansion Valve:

Reduces the pressure of the refrigerant before it enters the evaporator coil, facilitating its ability to absorb heat.
Drain Pan:

Collects condensed moisture that forms as air is cooled and dehumidified.
Air Filter:

Filters dust and debris from the air before it passes through the evaporator coil, improving air quality and system efficiency.
How It Works:
Heat Exchange: Warm indoor air is drawn into the evaporator unit by the blower fan, and as the air passes over the cold evaporator coil, heat is absorbed by the refrigerant inside the coil.

Cooling Process: The refrigerant absorbs the heat and evaporates into a gas, which is then sent to the outdoor condenser unit (in a split system) to be compressed and released.

Condensation: The process also dehumidifies the air, as moisture in the air condenses on the cold evaporator coil and drains away.

Applications:
Residential HVAC Systems: Common in split air conditioning systems, where the evaporator unit is located inside, and the condenser is outside.

Commercial HVAC Systems: Larger evaporator units are used for cooling larger spaces in commercial buildings.
